My furniture practice combines design, craftsmanship and material exploration, with a particular focus on timber and the possibilities of traditional and contemporary making techniques.

Working from initial sketches and prototypes through to full-scale fabrication, I design and make furniture and functional objects including seating, tables, desks, lighting and smaller household pieces. My work explores proportion, ergonomics, structure and joinery, while allowing the natural qualities of the material — grain, texture, colour and irregularity — to become part of the design.

I enjoy experimenting with the relationship between materials and construction, combining timber with metal, cord, upholstery and found or reclaimed materials. Some pieces are refined and precise, while others deliberately expose elements of their construction or celebrate the imperfections and character already present within the material.

My background in furniture and product design, carpentry and joinery has given me a hands-on understanding of how an idea moves from concept to physical object. Making is an integral part of my design process: testing, adapting and problem-solving directly with materials to create objects that are both functional and visually distinctive.
