Social Cyanide is a project I did for myself while waiting for my Graphic Design Diploma results. I like to keep busy & creative by exploring ideas I come up with. Social Cyanide is my take on current politics & world leaders that live in a barbaric, war infatuated, power hungry state of being. The bright colour liquid is Cyanide -Cyanide is a fast acting and potentially deadly chemical that affects the body's ability to use oxygen- When we are starved of oxygen we cannot make complete choices. The constant access to media through TV, Radio, Social Media & Internet means we are always being starved of ‘oxygen’ (space) to breath & think for ourselves. What thoughts are our own? Do we have autonomy over what we believe? The Cyanide (beliefs & political rhetoric) that are created by governments & people of power are Injected in to these political characters that leak this information through themselves on to media out lets & then on to us, the people who then soak up this information. We listen to these so called leaders & it creates distraction & divide amongst communities & misleads us in to voting for policies that end up having a deadly effect on ourselves or others. These social systems work in dualistic paradigms, that cause otherness across the world, this political tactic is driving us all to war & climate decline, all in the name of the few who benefit financially or egotistically through this narrative.
